From the ANNALS of the FOS

Here are some historic photos of the ill fated Chicago Road expedition.

ChicagoOverview
An overview of the Chicago Road Facility. The Zoftvare Fuhrer Himself, seated in the "Commander's Chair", is performing his solemn System Administration duties. He is seated in front of the Tektronix 4107 color graphics terminal, operating over a 19200 baud serial line. To his immediate right, you will note a hard copy terminal operating as the console for the VAX 11/730. More on the VAX later. To the extreme right of the photo, partially hidden behind the VAX, is a VT100! The VAX of course, had a 20 MB removable drive for backup a 128 MB hard drive, and 1MB of memory. To the left of the VAX, is the venerable Celerity 1200, with 8 MB of memory, and a 356 MB hard drive located in the seperate cabinet to it's left. To the left of the Zoftvare Fuhrer, is the Celerity color graphics terminal, 13 inch screen with 1024 color capability. Also note the the Tektronix hard copy unit at the left edge. You can just make out the digitizing tablet. The Tektronix 4014 graphics terminal is out of the picture.

CelerityTapeDrive
Here is a close-up view of the 9-track tape drive. Recall if you will, that the capacity of the full 10 inch tape was 40 MB. At the extreme right edge you can partially see two modems, operating at 1200 and 2400 baud.

Gentlemen, please, no fighting in the War Room!

AMEXHalfMast
It was a truly sad day when the AMEX cards were refused during purchase. We all thought that if each of us only charged one round at the Windsor Ballet, The Smiling Idiot would never catch on.
